Review Hub

Student assignments, checked on behalf of assessors.

For vocational colleges and training organisations, we check completed student assignments against your marking guide and criteria — point by point — and record the evidence behind every judgement, so your assessor can review, confirm and sign off with confidence. The same careful checking is available for your assessment documents, proofreading, checklists and quality assurance.

What an assignment check looks like

Illustrative example — each judgement is referenced to the task, criterion and evidence in the student's submission.
Criterion met

Task 2, Question 1 — the response covers both required safety steps in the correct sequence. The supporting evidence is noted for the assessor.

More evidence needed

Task 3 — the student describes what they did, but the criterion also asks why. The missing explanation is highlighted rather than assumed.

Assessor to decide

Task 4 — a borderline response addresses part of the criterion, but the evidence is inconsistent. It is separated out for the assessor's final judgement.

Checked & clear

Submission requirements — all required sections are present and the response follows the task instructions. No issues raised.

For each submission you receive a clear checking record: criterion-by-criterion outcomes, evidence notes, student feedback where requested, and any borderline cases separated for the assessor's final decision.

What we do

Five services, each done to the same careful standard: checking completed assignments on behalf of assessors, reviewing the assessment documents themselves, polishing their language, working through your checklists item by item, and helping your team keep quality consistent.

01

Assignment Checking on Behalf of Assessors

Send us completed student assignments with your marking guide, and we check every submission on your assessors' behalf — carefully, consistently and with a clear record they can rely on.

  • Each answer checked point by point against the criteria and marking guide
  • Evidence and reasoning recorded behind every judgement
  • Borderline or unclear cases flagged for the assessor's final decision
02

Assessment Document Review

A full read of your assessment tools — task briefs, marking guides, observation checklists and mapping documents — checked against the criteria and requirements you supply.

  • Questions matched against marking guides, point by point
  • Incomplete or missing sections identified, with exact references
  • Instructions checked for clarity from a student's point of view
03

Proofreading & Editing

Clean, consistent documents make a difference with students, assessors and auditors alike. We polish the language without changing your meaning or your assessment intent.

  • Spelling, grammar and punctuation corrected throughout
  • Terminology, numbering and formatting made consistent
  • Ambiguous wording flagged where it could confuse a student
04

Checklist Checking

Your own checklists, completed independently. Send us the checklist you already use — for validation, moderation or pre-delivery checks — and we work through it item by item.

  • Every item marked pass, fix or gap — nothing left unticked
  • Evidence noted for each judgement, so your team can verify it
  • Works with your existing templates and formats
05

Quality Assurance Support

An extra pair of experienced eyes for your QA cycle — before a new course launch, ahead of an audit, or when your internal team is at capacity.

  • Independent second review, separate from the document's author
  • Batch reviews for backlogs and re-developed units
  • Findings summarised by priority, so fixes can be scheduled

How it works

Three straightforward steps, built around assignment checking: you provide the submissions and marking guide, we do the detailed checking, and your assessor makes the final call.

Step 1

Send assignments & the marking guide

Email the completed student submissions together with the assignment task, criteria and marking guide they should be checked against. You'll receive a fixed quote and a timeframe before anything starts.

Step 2

We check & record the evidence

Each submission is worked through point by point. You receive a criterion-by-criterion checking record with evidence notes — and draft student feedback too, if you'd like it.

Step 3

Your assessor confirms & signs off

Your assessor reviews the checking record, resolves any flagged or borderline cases and confirms the final outcomes. Resubmissions can be rechecked against the same record.

Course areas we check

We check student assignments — and the assessment documents behind them — for skills-based and vocational courses taught in training kitchens, workshops, care settings and classrooms around the world.

Commercial cookery students being trained in a professional kitchen

Cookery & Hospitality

Commercial cookery, patisserie and hospitality assessments — including practical observation checklists and workplace-based tasks.

A care worker and supervisor supporting an elderly resident in an aged care setting

Aged Care & Community Services

Individual support, aged care and community services assessments, where clear instructions and complete evidence requirements matter most.

A carpentry trainee measuring and cutting timber in a training workshop

Carpentry & Joinery

Carpentry and joinery assessments — workshop project briefs, framing and fixing tasks, and the theory and safety evidence behind them.

A bricklaying student building a brick wall and checking it with a spirit level in a training workshop

Bricklaying & Cement Work

Bricklaying, blocklaying, cement rendering and concreting assessments — practical task records, measurement exercises and written knowledge tasks.

A craftsman shaping a heavy timber beam by hand in a timber-frame workshop

Timber Making & Framing

Timber manufacturing, wood machining and timber framing assessments — project evidence, calculations and safety documentation.

Also covered: painting and decorating, plastering, business and administration, retail, health support and other certificate and diploma level courses. If your course area isn't listed, ask — the checking method is the same whatever the subject.

For students

Get your own assignment checked, proofread and reviewed — with detailed feedback, a referencing check and a plagiarism review, so you can improve it and submit your own work with confidence.

You write it — we check it. This is a checking, proofreading and feedback service for work you have written yourself.

  • Detailed feedback — clear comments on what works, what is missing and what to fix before you submit.
  • Proofreading — spelling, grammar and clarity checked throughout your assignment.
  • Referencing check — your in-text citations and reference list checked for consistency and completeness.
  • Plagiarism review — passages that may need rewording or proper citation are flagged, so you can put them right yourself before submitting.

Why assessors use Review Hub

The assessor keeps the final say

We do the detailed checking and record the evidence, but we don't replace your assessor. They review the flagged cases, confirm the outcomes and sign off — the decision stays with them.

Confidential by default

Your assessment materials are your intellectual property. They are used only for your review, never shared with third parties, and can be deleted on request once the work is complete.

A checking record you can rely on

No vague comments. Every judgement names the task and criterion it relates to and points to the evidence in the student's own work — so your assessor can verify it quickly, without re-checking from scratch.

Flexible, wherever you are

Everything is handled by email, so time zones work in your favour — send a batch of assignments at the end of your day and the checking progresses while your team is offline. Engage us for a single class set or an ongoing flow of marking.

Who runs Review Hub

Review Hub is run by Okasha, a freelance assessment reviewer who works directly with training providers. When you email Review Hub, you deal with Okasha personally — the same person who checks your students' assignments — not a call centre or an anonymous queue.

Much of Okasha's work is checking completed student assignments on behalf of assessors: working through each submission against its marking guide, recording the evidence behind every judgement, and flagging anything that needs the assessor's own call. Assessment document review, proofreading, checklist checking and QA support are also part of the service, held to the same careful standard. The setup is deliberately small and personal, so every submission gets a careful check rather than a rushed one.

Where we work: Review Hub supports vocational colleges and training providers in Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, Ireland — and anywhere else skills-based courses are taught. If your assessments are in English, we can review them.

Common questions

Can you check assignments on behalf of our assessors?

Yes — send us the completed student assignments together with the marking guide and criteria they should be checked against. We work through each submission and record the evidence and reasoning behind every judgement, so your assessor can review the work, confirm the outcomes and sign off — the final decision always stays with your assessor.

What do you need from us to start?

For assignment checking: the completed submissions (Word or PDF is fine) plus the assignment task, marking guide and criteria. For document review, just send the documents and the requirements they should be checked against. If you're not sure what to send, email us first — we'll tell you exactly what's needed for a quote.

How much does it cost?

Every engagement is quoted as a fixed price before work begins, based on the number of assignments and their length. There are no hourly meters running and no obligation — if the quote doesn't suit, simply don't proceed.

Can we try a sample first?

Yes. We're happy to complete a small, appropriately scoped sample assignment check using materials you are authorised to share, so you can judge the quality and format of the checking record before committing to a full batch.

How quickly will we get our review back?

Turnaround is confirmed with your quote and depends on the size of the batch. If you have a deadline — an intake date or an audit — mention it in your first email and we'll tell you honestly whether we can meet it.

Who should we contact about assessment operations?

If you're the person responsible for assessment operations or quality assurance at your organisation, you're exactly who this service is for. If you're not, we'd be grateful if you'd pass this page on to whoever is.

Assignments waiting to be checked?

Tell us the course area, roughly how many submissions you have, and the marking guide you use. You'll get a reply from Okasha with next steps and a fixed quote — no obligation.
